Objective :
The increased instability of newly emerged business environments introduces a range of risk variables.
A wide spectrum of threats face companies and personnel. Advance risk planning is essential before
relocating expatriates or staff on short term assignment to high-risk zones.
The H.E.A.T / H.E.S.T courses that lead to qualification to these standards allow all organisations to provide
comprehensive training sessions for hostile environments. Courses are modular and range from design of a
security plan, risk assessment, to the physical security of people and property ; classes can also be given on
practical skills such as first aid and rescue in the field, use of transmissions equipment, OEI sensitization,
topography, or 4-Wheel vehicle driving.
Course elements are flexible, but we recommend that courses focus on and are adapted to specific
characteristic(s) of the zone where staff are to be mobilised.
Methodology includes brief theory classes, with instruction files given to trainees to assist them for the
duration of the course. Knowledge assessment is based on the practical application of concepts learnt and
the handling of equipment in simulation drills.
From training sessions to comprehensive debriefings, with video support, participants are able to maximise
skills acquisition and the learning process.
Duration : From 4 to 10 days for entire course -
3 sessions per year
Program :
• S ensitization sessions for security personnel
• Course combines theory and practice for a public selected to work in a hostile environment
prior to deployment
Public : All personnel mobilised in a hostile / conflict /
dangerous environment..
