Security Mission for EU Electoral Observers - Lebanon 2009 Security management services for the European Commission’s electoral observation mission. As part of an international consortium led by the German International Development Agency GTZ, GEOS manages all safety and security issues for European Commission electoral observation missions. With the participation of more than 100 independent European observers to guarantee free and fair elections that comply with democratic principles and international procedures, these missions present major operational and logistical challenges.
HEAT Training
The H.E.A.T / H.E.S.T standard training sessions run by GEOS provide all organisations with comprehensive instruction combining theory classes, hands-on training and simulation drills for individuals operating in high-risk zones (rescue service, 4-Wheel driving, telecommunications, stress management, etc.).
During the 2010 FIFA Football World Cup held in South Africa, GEOS was in charge of ensuring the safety and security of journalists and production teams of a major French media network. A total of 120 people were stationed throughout the territory of South Africa, with GEOS providing security and monitoring for more than 2 months.
